Appointments and Pricing

At Chelvey Menopause we try and keep things as straight forward as possible by having a simple structure with the appointments we offer and the prices we charge for our services.

Initial Consultation (£250)

All new patients should book an initial consultation with us. This is a doctor led consultation during which one of our experienced clinicians will be able to spend up to 45 minutes carefully exploring your symptoms and provide a management plan tailored to your individual needs.

Follow Up Appointments (£160)

It is really important to have a follow up at three months after initiating HRT. We also recommend that women who are stable on HRT medication have a review at least every 12 months. These 30 minute, doctor led consultations are another opportunity to review your treatment plan and explore any side effects or ongoing symptoms. It is also a really good time for us to discuss wider aspects of your health during the menopause.

Testosterone Appointments (£185)

This appointment is to discuss adding in testosterone if you are already stable on HRT.

If your HRT is not quite right and you need a review- please book an initial appointment to discuss this first. If your HRT is not optimised prior to starting testosterone, then this could affect the efficacy of the testosterone itself.

You will need some blood tests prior to a prescription for testosterone- this can be done privately through our clinic or can be requested via your GP and we will interpret the results during your appointment. Please see our blood test pricing if you would like more information.

At this appointment we will discuss symptoms; review blood results if available and then prescribe testosterone if appropriate.

We recommend a clinical review at 3 months after initially starting testosterone to recheck testosterone levels and rediscuss symptoms. Once stable on testosterone we recommend a blood test every 6 months to monitor testosterone levels and a clinical review with blood tests at least annually to discuss symptoms.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Menopause – 5 session, virtual course (£50 per session, full course £250)

**Courses starting in Spring 2024**

Our CBT is offered as group sessions, as recommended by NICE guidelines.  Each session is delivered by both of our doctors- Dr Laura Flexer and Dr Kuki Avery who are NHS GPs, menopause specialists and are trained extensively in delivering CBT courses specifically to focus on the menopause and its symptoms.  A session is 90 minutes long and is conducted in small groups of up to 10 people virtually.

Each session will review and build on the previous week’s material, reviewing improvements to date and introduce the next CBT intervention.  Further information on CBT for menopause is included in the ‘how we can help’ section of the website.  As part of the course, you will receive a booklet with course information and handouts to refer to when the course has finished.

When you book onto the course, you will be emailed a list of potential course dates to then book onto a specific course.  For any more questions on this course, please do email us at hello@thechelvey.com

Diet and Lifestyle Consultations (£160)

This is a lifestyle consultation where we can support you to make changes towards healthier living that will benefit you for years to come. Whether its to discuss weight loss, exercise advice, sleep or to explore psychosexual problems, one of our clinicians will be able to help you. We can explore why these changes may have been difficult to make or maintain in the past, and together we can create achievable goals for the future. In addition we can offer general health screening blood tests.

Prescriptions

We partner with Pharmacierge, a UK are wide virtual pharmacy who provide an excellent service. Prescriptions from our doctors have an initial charge of £30 to cover the cost of writing and administering the prescription. Pharmacierge will then contact you, requesting payment for the medication itself. Once payment has been made, the medication will be sent to you via secure courier at no additional cost.

Bloods

We have partnered with Nationwide Pathology for our phlebotomy (blood taking) services. Nationwide Pathology have over 100 clinics across the UK. If you are equired to have bloods, we would arrange this on your behalf with Nationwide Pathology who would then take this blood test and send the results directly back to your doctor at Chelvey Menopause.

We don’t believe in testing (or charging you) for the sake of it. Therefore, we offer a range of blood tests to ensure everything your doctors feels needs to be explored is checked, without over testing for the sake of it. Following a blood test, if your results are normal, or as expected, we’ll inform you via email at no extra cost. If there are any adverse findings we’ll contact you, asking you to book in for a follow up to discuss these results, or of course, we can just pass them back to your GP if that’s what you’d prefer.
