Meet the team
Dr. Laura Flexer
Dr Laura Flexer is a GP and Menopause Specialist, who is passionate about delivering high quality, individualised care. Dr Flexer has had broad medical experience, having worked in hospital medicine in both the UK and New Zealand. Her combined experience working as a physician as well as a GP with an interest in Women’s Health means she is well placed to manage women with a wide range of symptoms, including those with complex medical problems.
Dr Flexer has been awarded Membership of The Royal College of General Practice (MRCGP) and Membership of The Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). She also holds a Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health (DFSRH) and is a member of the British Menopause Society. Dr Flexer is a keen teacher and regularly provides education about menopause to other healthcare professionals.
Dr Flexer recognises the difficulties women face in accessing appropriate menopause care and feels passionately about providing holistic, evidenced-based care that empowers women to take control of their menopause. She has a compassionate and caring approach and is dedicated to supporting women through the physical and emotional aspects of the perimenopause and menopause.
Dr. Kuki (Kathryn) Avery
Dr Kuki Avery is a GP and Menopause Specialist who is passionate about providing holistic, evidence-based and personalised menopause care, which puts you, the individual, at the centre.
Dr Avery has a strong background in specialist hospital medicine and, with many years experience of managing challenging medical conditions, both in the hospital and GP surgery (in the UK and Africa), she is well placed to manage menopause care in the context of complex medical concerns.
Dr Avery is a Member of The Royal College of GPs (MRCGP) and has also passed the prestigious Membership of The Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) examinations. She is an active member of The British Menopause Society, having recently published in the BMS journal Postreproductive Health.
Dr Avery is often complemented on her empathic manner. She is an excellent listener and will take time to discuss all your concerns. Dr Avery will suggest treatment options and work with you to develop a management plan tailored to your individual concerns and your life.
Richard Flexer
Richard Flexer is director of operations at The Chelvey Medical Group and is fundamental to the effective management of The Chelvey Menopause Clinic. Having graduated from The University of Birmingham with a degree in Commerce, Richard attended the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and commissioned into the Intelligence Corps. Richard’s military career included fascinating and varied roles, both in the UK and overseas. As a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Richard also runs an advisory financial services business in addition to his work with The Chelvey Medical Group.
